Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) just reached a major milestone—117,821 passengers boarded flights from XNA in May 2025, marking the highest monthly total in the airport’s 26-year history.
The previous record of 109,923 enplanements was set in October 2024. This latest achievement reflects not only XNA’s momentum but the broader growth happening across the Northwest Arkansas region. Early June data already shows a 15.9% year-over-year increase in TSA checkpoint volume, indicating more records may be broken as the summer travel season continues.
“This kind of growth is remarkable,” said Aaron Burkes, CEO of XNA. “It speaks to the energy of the Northwest Arkansas region and the vital role XNA plays in keeping it connected. People are choosing to travel, and they’re choosing to do it from their local airport. That’s something we’re incredibly proud of.”
XNA’s surging passenger numbers are closely tied to rising population, expanding business activity, and increased tourism throughout the region. As Arkansas’s busiest airport, XNA continues to play a vital role in supporting economic development and regional connectivity.
Travelers are encouraged to arrive early, plan ahead, and make use of XNA’s growing list of amenities and parking options as the airport prepares for what could be its busiest year yet.
